    Good

I'm not sure how I feel about the Hooters restaurant chain. On the one hand, it objectifies women, but, on the other hand, aren't women supposed to be objectified?

Philosophical debates aside, I had wings split among two flavors, mild and parmesan garlic; the wings were good, and I don't think I've had a better parmesan garlic anywhere else.

Also, my friend introduced me to tater tots covered in cheese and sour cream, which are probably really bad for you, but hey, that's how you know they're good, right?

    Overall, decent bar food.

    Good

Had a falafel döner at this place, and it was pretty good, hitting the mark for me. This restaurant had more on the menu that I wanted to try, but alas, there's only so much that can fit in my stomach (and my wallet is only so big).

    Satisfactory

This Caribbean-style, upscale restaurant was offering special lunch deals due to a certain event that was taking place nearby, and I assume was trying to cater to a lower clientele than it normally would. I had a burger, which was alright, but since this place was a bit fancy, I was expecting something not as plain as what I had received. My lunchmate got a plate of fried plantains and seasoned ground beef, which looked pretty good; I was jealous.

    Satisfactory

My friends and I came here to eat with the wishful thinking of seeing strippers (we were disappointed in this respect). It turns out that this place is a steak place where you cook your own steak (I was severely disappointed in this respect).

I ordered a teriyaki steak because I wasn't that hungry and this was one of the cheaper steaks. I knew that I wasn't a particularly good cook, and this meal confirmed that. Customers cook on a grill set up toward the front of the restaurant. I didn't want to overcook my meat, so I severely undercooked it. I was trying to go for medium rare, but what I got was really rare.

My friends got a salad and a side of macaroni and cheese, which I stole off of (all the sides here are served family-style) and which were pretty good.

Overall, I don't go to restaurants to cook; I go to restaurants so that better cooks than me cook for me. The problem with a restaurant that allows you to cook your own meat is that a lot of the time the cooking is only as good as the cook. Bottom line: the meat here could have been cooked better (is that my fault for cooking the meat, or the restaurant's fault for having me cook the meat, or my fault for going to a restaurant that allows customers to cook their own meat in the first place?). To add insult to injury, I'm not even that big a fan of teriyaki.

    Sucks

On December 23rd, I went out with my parents and brother to Logan's Roadhouse in McAllen, Texas. There was the usual wait, but things started to go down hill when we were seated. The waiter was nice, but incompetent -- the real problem was the food and overall service.

1.) My dad ordered a bowl of chili as his entree, but as we were being served our food, the waiter apologized and informed us that they were out of chili, as, let me state again, we were being served out food. The waiter should have told us they were out of chili as he was taking our orders or shortly thereafter. Granted, the waiter might not have known himself that they were out of chili, but someone, a cook at least, should have notified him when they got our orders.

2.) My mom ordered an appetizer platter, which included celery sticks to compliment the buffalo wings, but the celery sticks were DECOMPOSING. Either they had been frozen or they were old, but the were turning to gloo.

3.) In place of the non-existent chili, my dad ordered an appetizer platter, just as my mom had did. The appetizer is supposed to come with 3 different items (my mom's did) but my dad only got 2 different items. The waiter did not say why, so we had to ask why, when we had ordered 2 of the same plates, they come back looking different. The waiter said that they ran out of one of the items, which is understandable (somewhat), but unacceptable in relation to the shitty service we also received from the restaurant as a whole.

Overall, I will never eat at a Logan's Roadhouse ever again. The waiter apologized for the service and food saying that they had just finished serving a big party, explaining why some of the food was out of stock, but still, its a restaurant, and they are supposed to be prepared for almost anything.

Shitty service and shitty food equals a bad review. No more Logan's for me, ever.
